Artist Residency at Can Silvestre in Riudarenes, Spain: September 2026

I followed the sun to Can Silvestre and experienced what I can only call some of the sweetest days of my life—and where my only role was to be an artist.

I lived slowly: hung my clothes to dry, ate the freshest pears, nectarines, and butter, studied my SX-70, explored Riudarenes and Girona, and walked through the Spanish forest with my cameras. I made friends with some of the kindest and most talented people, paid them in green grapes to model, had family dinners,  and talked for hours about our upbringings, family, alignment, and our art—and agreed to meet somewhere in the middle in the new year.

I had the honor of meeting and photographing Can Silvestre's founder, Ester Morales, and the honor of sharing my why:

I was here to create but to also live for the women in my family who couldn’t exist and dream as freely as I’ve been able to.

13 rolls, 50+ Polaroids, and many handwritten pages in attempt to document and remember this: me at 28, in Spain doing my first artist residency, living by the rules of the sun and its phases, and making things. May all my weeks echo this one in some way.
